re: Jags would be 17.5 pt favorites over Alabama

To say they couldn't compete with the Jaguars is ridiculous.

A college all star team composed of players from many different teams, coaches and systems, thrown together and given, say, four weeks to train wouldn't be able to compete. Too much unfamiliarity.

If we're talking about the Jags, it wouldn't be a shutout because a) the team in general, and Gabbert in particular, truly does suck and b) the DBs can probably freelance and make a play or two. But it would get ugly because even the Jacksonville Jaguars have pride and they're not letting the college kids get within 20.

Yes, out of the first round picks, 24 will be starters by the end of the first year.

But that in no way, shape, or form guarantees that you can make a roster with those 24. How many will be LBs? OL or Centers?

That is the problem. You cannot just look at the numbers and say 24 starters means will can fill 22 starting spots on our team.

The fact that some people in this thread are seriously arguing a college all-star team would have a chance is mind blowing.
