Grantland-Andrew Sharp
Are the Warriors being disrespected as champs or is this just self motivation?
I'm going with A.

oc Rivers told Zach Lowe that the Warriors got lucky avoiding his Clippers and the Spurs. Ty Lawson said Steph Curry didn’t have to play any defense in the playoffs. Kyrie Irving said a healthy Cavs team “definitely” would have won the title.
quote:-Klay Thompson
“If we got lucky, look at our record against [the Clippers] last year. I’m pretty sure we smacked them. Didn’t they lose to the Rockets? … That’s funny. Weren’t they up 3-1, too? Tell them I said that, too. I wanted to play the Clippers last year, but they couldn’t handle their business.”
quote:-Draymond Green
if they saying [we got lucky], they aren’t the champs. Gregg Popovich didn’t say that. That’s one organization I really respect. And you haven’t heard anyone in they camp say that. You ain’t heard anybody in OKC say that, some of the organizations I really respect. If they saying that, you the see ring fitting man over there? Jason of Beverley Hills, he over there fitting us for our ring? That’s pretty cool. So if they saying that, it’s some bitterness and some saltiness going around. They obviously not the champs. So who cares what they say. It is what it is.

This is long overdue. You have to understand: People were questioning whether Golden State was a real contender for most of last season, too. Charles Barkley said you couldn’t win a title shooting that many 3s. Everyone worried the Warriors didn’t have enough big men. James Harden was the real MVP, not Steph
quote:Sarcastic Stephen Curry
"I just want to say, 'I apologize for us being healthy. I apologize for us playing who's in front of us.'"

Super sour grapes from Choke City (Clippers) and the fighting Lebrons

All of the above.
The breaks they got have done a tremendous job of diminishing just how damn good they were last season.

How? He's confident his team would have won if 2 of their all star starters hadn't missed all of the finals? shite, 4 of their 5 starters were injured and still took them to 4-2.
Kyrie and Love both missed the finals (besides 1 game) bc injuries.
Shump had a fricked up shoulder
Mozgov had a fricked up knee, which he had surgery on after the finals.
It's not like he said they didn't deserve it or anything.
Rivers does come off as a bitch though.
Some of the GS players come off as butthurt as well. Who cares if people are hating? You got the trophy to prove you deserved it.

Print the shirts.
The Warriors were a historically great team from game #1 and the best in the league...when the criticism is limited to "they were healthy", that pretty much says it all.

ok?
We all know thats not what happened. Everyone knows who the champion is. Who cares?
Kyrie is in no way saying the Warriors dont deserve it or were lucky.

It sounds like he's making excuses, which is a bitch move.

1. Ok Sure, the Cavs might have won if all their guys were healthy.
2. However, the year before, the W's might have beat San Antonio (it was a close series of games) if all the W's guys were healthy the year before. Warrior front line key players were injured. Lee and Bogut.
Frigging Lakers would not have beat Boston Celtics if McHale's ankle were not broken in game 1 of a total rout in which C's scored 148 or some such and the Lakers won their games in OT or by 1 point.
My example being necessary for the complainer on Cavs.
Before time itself, when Magic and Larry dueled, games were decided by injuries to key guys. It happens.

There's a point where it's less of an excuse and more of an observation. If you don't think that series looks different with a healthy Cavs team you're on crack.
That being said, GSW beat everyone on their schedule and were ridiculously good throughout the process.

Injuries are an excuse, rust is a reason.
