It's pretty wild to think about how close Dwight Howard came to destroying the Warriors

Back in 2013 when Howard became a free agent after one season with the Lakers, the young Warriors were trying to move heaven and earth to make cap space for Howard.

quote:

The Warriors are definitely interested in landing Dwight Howard if at all possible. It’s a long shot, to be sure. But Golden State doesn’t seem at all deterred by Howard’s propensity for drama, his injuries, or his wanting to play for other teams. “Are you kidding?” one source said. “He’s the best center in the game.”

quote:

According to sources, the Warriors are willing to offer Andrew Bogut and Klay Thompson or Harrison Barnes. The Warriors can also add in the expiring contracts of Richard Jefferson or Andris Biedrins to sweeten the deal with more cap relief for the Lakers. Golden State, which can only sign Howard via sign-and-trade, believes that is the best offer Los Angeles will receive.

Howard went on to sign with the Rockets. Who did the Warriors sign with the cap space they created for Howard? Andre Iguodala.

No Klay Thompson. No Andrew Bogut (they dumped his salary to make room for Durant). No Andre Iguodala. No Kevin Durant three years down the road.

Dwight challenged Kob to a fight after he left and kob declined. Certain guys act tough when they out in the court but when 12 went to make it real well he wasn't bout it.

They also tried to trade for Kevin Love but Klay Thompson was pretty adamant that he wasn't gonna play for Minnesota.

It's pretty funny to think that a guy getting by on athleticism alone would do what Klay and Iggy did for those warrior teams. Almost laughable.

Casual fan takes are in full effect it seems.

Dwight wouldn't even start for New Orleans. Crazy to think about.

Maybe he had a head injury? Have you done a professional examination?

I've known other SG to "not be about it" when shite got real, but it was obviously due to them having a head injury and thus completely excusable.

Why do you never partake in threads about trades and stuff?

Your team building a player evaluation expertise could be helpful. Yet, you stay away from every thread with serious basketball discussion.

What was Thompson going to do, retire?

Pretty sure it was Jerry West from GS's side that nixed the deal.

I'm more of a set the record straight kinda poster. Trade talk is all speculation so there really isn't a whole lot that draws me to those threads. I'll pop in every now and again. But it's not my forte.
