The only sport I think comes close is swimming. Then I looked.

Simone Manuel is the best sprinter in the NCAA for Stanford, her best time in the 50 free wouldn't make the team for Stanford's men.

Katie Ledecky is perhaps the greatest women's swimmer in history, her best time in her premier event - the 1000 free, is 40 seconds better than the next NCAA female, and she would be 5th out of 7 on Stanford's men's team.

Stanford's women are #1 and Stanford's men are #2 in the nation - so its a fair comparison.

Definitely basketball. That Geno Aurriema coached UConn women's team could win the SEC men's basketball title.

Possibly bowling. I'm sure there are women out there that bowl on a men's level in the pros. I don't see why they couldn't in college.

He asked for sports; gymnastics isn't a sport.

Gymnastics is so subjective though in who wins/loses. It's difficult to compare. It's basically an athletic beauty pageant.

Do men and women even do the same events in gymnastics?

I think NCAA Rifle is co-ed. Only NCAA sanctioned sport where men and women compete against each other?

The fact that Ledecky would be a pretty good mens swimmer in the 1500m is actually a testament to what an outlier she is. No other woman is in the same stratosphere as the men.

First off the 1000 is not a legit ncaa event... at conference and ncaa's it goes from 500 to 1650. After several men having their shave and taper meet, katie currently sits 32nd in the nation for men, in the 1650. She 100% would be swimming at ncaa's championships if not for the 4 stanford men faster than her. Ncaa limits teams to 3 per event, so one of those stanford guys in the top 16 won't be able to compete in that event either. She made the men's conditional "b cut" by almost 27 seconds... she would've finished 14th at sec's and was faster than every guy on my former squad just looked it up, 8th place all time for bama men.

If women could tee up from the closest tees and the men all the way tipped out they would have a chance in golf but even then I would be a slim chance. that would only apply to the top schools as well bc there's a huge drop off in womens golf
