Even though Karr is traveling Friday night?

I have no problem with Thursday regular season games if they're needed for whatever reason, but this is the playoffs. This just reeks of LW trying to get an advantage by limiting the Sulphur crowd (and those people travel). Should there be an LHSAA rule mandating Friday or Saturday playoff games, or should Sulphur people accept the current rules?

Current rules are home team picks the day...

I guess in Nola with few stadiums someone would have to play on Thursday. Seems like Sulphur would just have to do as the home team asks.

let's say you can possibly play Friday night, Saturday afternoon, or Saturday night. In the playoffs, usually not even any NOLA stadium is hosting more than one game per week simply due to which teams advance.

If there is an opportunity for the game to be played on Friday, I would say Sulphur has a legitimate beef with playing Thursday. I'm guessing LW is saying that Friday is the Thanksgiving break and players, support groups, coaches, etc. want to leave as soon as school ends Friday.

Why would they try and limit the sulfur crowd?

LW will want as many Sulphur fans there as possible. They, as do all schools, want that money.

Home field advantage... LW isn't a typical NOLA public school. They'll fill up their side for home games

If Karr is on the road both Berhman and Memstas are vacant on Friday; Ehret comes to Hahnville so I don't believe any other west bank team is left.

Not according to the football handbook on the LHSAA's website, LINK

quote:

14.15.6 Unless participating teams mutually agree to play a Thursday night or Saturday night, playoff games shall be played Friday nights. Participating teams shall mutually agree to play a Thursday or Saturday night if stadium conflicts exist Friday night. If a stadium conflict exists Friday night and teams cannot mutually agree to play Thursday or Saturday night, a coin flip shall be conducted to determine if the game shall be played Thursday or Saturday.

I didn't know Sulphur brought a 12th man. I hope LW has been prepping for the crowd noise

I went to that game. Was on the way to sit on the home side because it was less packed and the Sulphur fans fired up the tornado siren and their crowd went nuts and I decided I was gonna go sit with them crazy frickers instead.

Prep not needed

This game will be over by the 2nd quarter.

Sulphur defense is awful and they're playing a team with a QB that can throw over the top. Sulphur basically plays with no safety in the backfield. Dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life. They keep their average CBs on islands.

Devonta Jason may have a career night.

To be fair to Sulphur, their offense is pretty stout if Byron Walker shows up. Since he committed to SLU, his body language has taken a turn and says he isn't 100% in. If he shows up at all. J'Cobi Skinner has run for almost 2200 yards this year. But he won't be able to carry this team by himself.

Walker is going to drop 50+

Yeah, LW needs to limit the crowd to have a chance against sulphur.

This game is going to get out of hand in a hurry. LW will have no problems with sulphur

West Monroe at Ouachita was just changed to Thursday due to inclement weather on Friday.
