ESPN's coverage doesn't start until 2:00.
CBS is doing regular programming.
Golf channel isn't showing actual coverage it doesn't look like. More of discussion of action.

It's thursday. People who watch golf are working.
Is it on the DirecTV/U-verse multi channels?

You can stream it on CBS Sports or the app. It doesn't play on actual TV until 2.

We gonna have a thread like this every year?

Nope. Daddy Masters thinks it's still 1950

This thing called masters.com. Try it.

They will only stream featured groups and select holes on Thursday and Friday morning. It's frustrating knowing that the technology and likely the demand are there to be able to stream every shot of the whole thing. I understand Augusta National does what they want because they don't need money, but I would love to wake up to complete coverage all day.

So frustrating. I'm all for maintaining tradition, but the way they restrict TV coverage is maddening.

On your computer I presume. OP sounds like he's at home on the couch.

This isn't the Buick Open or some Champions Tour stop. They know that limiting the coverage makes it more appealing.
We should consider ourselves lucky they even put it on TV as much as they do. They used to not even begin coverage until later in the day on the weekends.

I really don't buy this. I always loved watching the Masters with my dad as a kid. I knew nothing about the limitations of TV coverage back then. When I got older and could actually watch morning weekday golf, I learned about all of this. There are so many things that make the Masters great. The traditions, beauty, and fact that it is the first major in like 7 months is what gets people so excited every year.

Or a casual observer may catch it at lunch on Thursday and Friday and get drawn in for the weekend

Don't really think they care too much about drawing in casual observers.

He can watch on his TV on the couch the same way I'm watching at work with technology

The Masters is probably the biggest sporting event in my office. Its probably on at least 5 tvs throughout the building.
We also do this for pretty much any sporting event that is on during office hours. The office pretty much shut down a few weeks ago for the first round of the basketball tournament.
