Is Technology ruining Professional Golf?
Posted by BBATiger on 1/21/17 at 6:14 pm619
So another guy shoots 59 today. Some tomato can named Adam Hadwin. That's 2 in the last month (and 8th ever). Just how entertaining are 325 yard Drives and Sand Wedges on the Par 4's??

They aren't adjusting the courses for the gains in technology fast enough.

No.
All of those guys that play on tour and a lot of them on the mini tours are capable of this. It's just a matter of good breaks and having a clear head.

frick modern golf. Let them play on a goat ranch with range balls and garage sale clubs and see if they shoot a 59.

How do you define technology?
There are several areas impacted by technology and some other changes that help with low scores:
Technology: more forgiving clubs, better performing golf balls, better conditioned courses and trackman and video to measure swing consistency maximize performance.
Other changes: soft spikes basically eliminating spike marks, private jet travel helps reduce fatigue and pro's now play year round.

This. Those guys are out there for a reason. We had a guy in college that shot a 60. Point is that they're really good to be out there in the first place.
