He has won a major (Grand Slam) every single year since 2005. He only has one more chance this year with the U.S. Open. His usual guarantee is the French Open. Didn't happen this year.

He doesn't look like the same player at all anymore. Pretty tough to watch.

Only meat is done. His career may be over though.

So he wins at least one major 9 straight years. Possibly doesn't win one in the 10th. Natural conclusion is that he's done.

This mentality towards sports/athletes is beyond retarded.

He forgot to add his injury history in that formula. I'm not saying he'll never win another major, but it sure will be a lot more difficult than in years past.

It's not like this is a new thing for him. He has sucked at Wimbledon the past four years. So it depends on your definition of "done".

I think he plays several more years as a top 5 player and has a shot at winning a couple more majors.

Nadal just lost to a player that is older than him. He has now lost 4 matches in a row at Wimbledon to a player outside of the Top 100.

no

I would bet right now he takes Roland Garros next year. He needs to take some time off because he doesn't look healthy and that's worked in the past.

Oh, he's here under a different name and his style is easily recognized.

And he will show up here and you will know it.

Exactly. He's lost early at Wimbledon a lot. This isn't a new thing.

That being said, I don't know if he'll return to his former self. But this is exactly how Nadal has looked for basically the last 7 months, so it's not like this is some compelling news.

This reminds me of the "is Bryce Harper a bust" thread.

Swaggercopter I think

Though he didn't say he's a bust, but danced around it in his OP

This...I would wager he will still be a force on the terre battue. He is a bull, plays with such force and abandon - I think its natural to expect players like that to "tennis age" quicker.

I can't believe how forthcoming he is about losing his confidence.

Nadal has always been forthcoming about everything, including that.

I absolutely never called Harper a bust. I simply wanted people to provide a timeline for his expectations.

No. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say he's going to win the U.S. Open. He's 20-1 at the U.S Open since 2010 with a winning record against Djoker. He's going to get his groove back and win.
