It's been awesome all year.

But good playoff baseball is really hard to beat.

MLB is really coming back strong over the last few years. Lots of young talent.

I have always watched and paid attention but I have noticed a lot of people close to me getting back in to it.

MLB still has a ways to go for total National appeal as it is very regional currently but it is a strong brand right now.

I came here to laugh at you and then I noticed you left the Cubs series out of this thread. So I'll see my way out now.

The MLB has been really awesome for a few years now.

I think it dates back to them adding the pacing rules, like the one where the batter has to have one foot in the batter's box. That way they don't mill around like an a-hole.

Every now and then you can see an ump tell a pitcher to stop taking so much time in between pitches.

They still need to improve pacing, but that is definitely a start.

I think the pitch clock starts next season, but it only is in play when there is no one on base.

If they dial the balls back again, there will be few homers, which means more balls in play, which means more action.

I also think MLB.tv doesn't get enough credit for growing a larger MLB fanbase.
MLB.tv is absolutely the best value in streaming sports.

Haven't seen this one enforced much in the playoffs.

Maybe that's why it feels like all the playoff games are taking forever. That and the pitching changes.

I'm not sure of the full rule, but I think there's something in there that it only applies when the pitcher is on the rubber. If they're walking around the batter can too.

I've noticed the pacing is better but there will be a batter like once a game and it's a huge ordeal

it happened last year in game 7 before the rain delay...I was super into it and then one batter took 20 minutes. I can't remember if it was because they were trying to pick the runner off or what, but it was a slog.

but it is waaaaay better. I stopped watching a couple of years after the strike. tried to get back into it by watching an all star game which was a 1-1 extra innings affair and they called it a tie so much for that

Not enough in MLB for you to complain about.

You're not gonna like it.

I wish they would stop using as much situational pitching.

If they would ever get rid of the silly blackout rules it would be even better.

they would have to start playing t ball to match the nfl in product dilution

It’s the same game I remember only the pacing is better and the players aren’t juicing up at least appearance wise

Just messing with you. We're best friends now. That's what friends do.

MLB is great, but there are so many fricking games. It's a chore to keep up during the season. 162 3 hour games, in 180 days.

They almost completely rid the game of the juicers.

Anyone that gets caught gets a huge suspension and if they repeat they are banned.

The only people that still do it are minor leaguers trying to make it to the majors, and even then they are few and far between.

I’m not looking for an emotional investment that I once had with the saints. Just catch a game or 2 a week

From the outside looking in I can see that we take sports too seriously

Yes IMO, at least the last several years since this new wave of young talent started and it stopped being roid rage ball. Playoff baseball is fantastic and *most* of the elite talent in MLB right now are on really good all around teams so they're being showcased in October the last several years.

The constant pitching changes in the playoffs wear things down time wise but I'm not sure what the fix is for that. I don't want some artificial rule where you can only make x number of pitching changes but I'm afraid Manfred would do something like that
