In today's NBA, how many games would McHale have gotten for the Rambis foul?

Trick question. Neither would be good enough to play in today's NBA.

Yea the amount of human revolution that has occurred since the 80's far outpaces anything the previous 1000 years. Today's players are basically superheroes in comparison.

At least that's what many here believe.

Over 40 years ago in the NFL most o-linemen didn't weigh over 250 pounds.

I mean nobody ever takes any wide open shots any more or spots. I mean Ray Allen's shot was off the dribble to beat the Spurs in Game 6.

sure, they do, of course; but bird was able to consistently get those shots off back then. today, not so much

also, the allen example is shitty because someone was in his grill and he actually had TO JUMP to get the shot off.

Yeah ... that's why the Hawks suffered when Kyle Korver went down.

Korver is so dynamic in how he creates shots for himself off the dribble, especially 3's.

And if you think Bird was only a set shooter ... then I question whether or not you actually watched a game in the 80s.

Dude, that scrawny clown is not playing in the NBA in 2015. There's absolutely no way. The fact that that string bean is on the court is evidence enough that the game has evolved.

That's what it said ... "Bird was a set shooter"...that implies that's all he did.

Even so ... his shot was basically unblockable. He hit many a jump shot right in someone's face.

He didn't always resort to that fake and then jump into someone shite that Curry and Harden do way too often.

McHale probably has a better low-post game RIGHT NOW ... than shite-bag Dwight Howard will ever have. (i.e. all he can do is dunk, either directly or via alley oop)
