It reminds me of trading baseball/football cards with friends in elementary school. Sometimes it's making the "deal," not actually the deal itself that is thrilling. Of course, that makes more sense as an 8 year old dealing with pieces of cardboard worth very little.

Orlando is the perfect franchise to miss out on every big fish and settle for overpaying the shite out of 2 or 3 above average players and then top out as a 6th or 7th seed for a year or two.

Kind of like the Pelicans if they didn't have AD.

I agree. Doubt they'll land any big fish, but they're clearing salary like they're trying to go for it. Only thing I can figure.

I don't think they were pumped about giving Oladipo a max contract himself. But at least he was restricted. It's certainly risky but if Ibaka is revitalized this year and resigns they probably win the trade.

I don't have much confidence in either of these things. I also wouldn't want to pay Ibaka max money when the majority of the contract is when he's in his 30s

Being from Orlando, I have been to a lot of Magic games and I am personally glad that Dipo is gone. His body language, attitude sucked. I think he was a cancer in the locker room.

He wanted to be a superstar so fast and when he didn't get his way, he pouted like a little bitch

Theyll have the ability to pay him more, I assume they already decided they're fine with maxing him out. I don't know if it's likely but I definitely could see Ibaka getting back close to his peak after being marginalized in okc.
