I am persoanlly in favor of having no conferences and just one leauge, and adding to two teams to make it an even 32. Doing away with the lottery, and going by record.

Team in Seattle and Kansas City.

Right now the matchups look pretty good to me.

Currenlty Matchups Would Be:

1.San Antonio
16.Minnesota

8.Golden State
9.Memphis

5.LA Clippers
12.Phoenix

4.Miami
13.Chicago

3. Oklahoma City
14. Brooklyn

6. Houston
11. Toronto

7. Portland
10. Dallas

2.Indiana
15. Washington

Would love this, but would make scheduling strange

I actually really like the lottery. How many teams who should get the #1 pick actually get it?

I think the premise of your OP would solve the issues I have with it. For example if we just missed out on the playoffs we would end up with a lottery pick we really don't need. They need to allow some of the bad Eastern conference teams a chance to get improve.

We've won like 9-10 straight against them. Do want

If the playoffs were set up the way you laid out then I would have San Antonio against OKC in the finals.

Miami could be in some serious trouble if they had to play the Clippers in the 2nd round after getting beaten on by the Bulls.

I still think if they do add 2 more teams then one is going to be in Vegas.

I don't they need to add any teams at all though.

I just selfishly want one in KC since I'm living near there

There is a dearth of NBA hoops around here Only pro fans I really run into are lakers or heat bandwagoners

I know we tried to win over the hearts of some NBA fans in St. Louis this preseason by playing the Bulls there.

I don't think it would be such an issue if the NBA didn't have the same 5-6 teams on like every night

Agree.

The disparity in coverage is the only real problem with the league right now. You have to MAKE them cover you, or they'll default to their darling teams.

Was so happy 3 of the final four teams last year weren't big market franchises

Nothing more annoying then finally catching your team's highlights on sports center only to hear about what the other team did wrong.

It just seems so easy to figure out what the best games are going to be on what nights 1 or 2 weeks away for them not to do it.

Years ago STL had the Hawks - but they obviously moved.

STL already has baseball, football, and hockey - all of which are very well supported for a middle sized city. I'm not sure if they have enough basketball fans for another NBA franchise to make sense. On the other hand, I dunno if KC would pick up an interest in the NBA or if their basketball fans are more college fans than NBA fans.

THIS.

All anyone could talk about after the last Spurs/Heat game was LeBron bitching about his fricking sleeves, like he was the only one wearing them.

No mention of SA leading wire to wire. Barely a passing mention that no one has whipped the Heat worse this season.

But it is what it is. Hopefully consumers can keep promoting the small market teams and help bring some parity to the coverage.

They'd pick up an interest in a heartbeat, IMO.

This part of the country is basketball-crazed. Tell a promising kid if he does well, goes to blue-blood Kansas and does well, he could play against NBA squads in his own backyard? The area would eat it up, IMO.

Same reason I think Louisville would make a great NBA city. They are #1 city when it comes to CBB ratings and I think if you stuck an NBA team there they would fill that arena every night. Especially if they had a young Kentucky star on their team like Anthony Davis or John Wall for example. Those two's respective NBA teams played each other in Rupp in the preseason and the place was packed.

Yup.

Even though I agree that Vegas will (and should) get a team, there's a substantial argument to be made that America's heartland could easily support a few additional franchises.

Problem is you have to worry about the talent level being spread to thin.

I honestly think they first need to start working on expanding the D-league, so that every team has an affiliate somewhere nearby.

Yeah I'd like to keep a bunch of the college talent that doesn't make the NBA over here.

If James Johnson is off playing somewhere in Europe we may never decide to bring him in.

Yeah, it would help increase exposure stateside for sure.

Having the Toros in Austin has been a major plus for SA developing talent.

I support the no conference thing to a degree, but your rankings are taking them into account right now. The Pacers/Heat are very good teams, but have the advantage of feasting on more EC teams on a weekly basis, inflating their records a few games likely.

I wouldn't mind them keeping some sort of divisions, maybe 4 total (Northeast, Southeast, Central and West), then having some sort of all-start game round robin with shorter games. Then top 4 teams from each division makes it
