@AdamSchefter: La'el Collins and his reps have decided if he's not selected tonight he will not sign a contract with a team and will renter draft next year

How many times has sitting out for a year helped a guy?

Smart of Collins camp to float this info to encourage teams thinking about pulling the trigger to do it.

How often is there a situation in this exact circumstance?

He's a first round talent guy in a sad situation and if he's innocent he has zero character concerns and no injury concerns whatsoever.

What a fricked up situation. I'd take him in the 3rd if he's still around.

His situation is unique. Tyrann Mathieu sat out and was still a 3rd round pick the following year, even with teamn knowing he had major off the field issues. If Collins stays in shape, and it is discovered that he did nothing wrong, at worst he will be a 3rd round pick next year, with the 2nd round not being out of the question.

So...what will he do the next 12 months? Just train the whole time? Take it easy some?

That sounds like an awful idea.

I didn't even know you could do that... Pretty interesting.

And I just don't know what to think about this anymore. It's crazy.
