I know it's a total sucker bet. The minimum games you have to bet is 3 and the odds are horrible. Now that we have that out of the way here are my picks.

Texas +14 vs Baylor
Duke +31 vs FSU
Michigan St. +7 vsThe Ohio State
Indy +7 vs Cincinatti
Tampa Bay -3 vs Buffalo

18 to 1 for 20 bucks.

Texas and Indy are the only 2 teams on the road.

I left out the worst aspect of those cards. A
push is a loss.

The black ones were hard to read. Almost like a different language.

The 2nd or 3rd time I played I won like $350. The following week I was an overtime loss from winning again. Haven't played since.

Are those the true odds when you bet 5 games?

My payoff should I win is 18-1. SUCKER

Most LV joints pay 20/1 to 22/1 on five-teamers, and pushes/ties reduce to the next amount of teams played, not lose like local cards of which the makers discard the easiest games, aim for games of 3 and 7 pt spreads, set bogus spreads on key numbers by moving-on-air, and/or also most local teams/conferences discarded as to keep them from getting lopsided in action.

Some Vegas groups even have ties win action, like Michael Gaughan owned hotels/sportsbooks(formerly owned Barbary Coast and the Coast properties..now has South Point)

Years back, I played one through a guy at work that knew a guy. Being young and dumb, I decided to pick 10 games because you still won money on 9 out of 10. Hit the first nine games - last game I took the over in a San Fran-KC game. Hit it by a point when Dante Hall ran a punt back for a TD with 2 minutes left in the game. Turned $10 into $1500 and never heard from that guy again after he paid up.

Some of the parlay cards out here are ties win, some are ties lose. Ties reduce on all off the board parlays. The parlay cards are tricky though, the payout for a 3 teamer is not 6 TO 1 it's 6 FOR 1. So with a normal $10 parlay that you hit you collect 70 bucks, your 60 win plus your 10 bet. Parlay cards you just collect the 60. So it's a ripoff unless you're getting a much better line on the card.

We played those back in undergrad. My New Orleans bookie who lived in the dorm had them. A buddy of mine on the golf team ended up having to pawn his golf clubs to pay the dude on some other bets.

One of the football players who lived in the dorms, who went on to play in the NFL, bought a case of Mickeys and a case of Colt 45 when he hit a 5 team parlay.
