What about the CFL? Would a great college football team win or be competitive in the CFL?

You would need to find someone who has watched CFL to answer this, GL

They wouldn't beat a CFL team either.

Good point. Saw a game on ESPN and was curious what talent level is in the league

No. CFL teams play with a extra man.
A college team would dominate an Arena team, though.

Have season tickets to a CFL team, watch CFL and College extensively. I prefer college football for what its worth.
A college team would get dominated especially if they played by CFL rules.
The field is significantly larger and there is one extra player on both sides of the field. Usually it takes quarterbacks 2-3 years just to understand the blitzing and coverage schemes. The strategy is completely different from college ball. You need a mobile, strong armed QB to win in the CFL, you cannot strictly rely on the run game.
Next would be the significant difference between a pro athlete in their late 20s vs an athlete in their early 20s. The lines in the CFL are big boys still.
Third would be the talent. As much as it gets shite on, the CFL is still a very talented league. It's next in line after the NFL and usually has a lot of unique players who are either undersized or for some reason won't cut it in the NFL. There is tons of former college All-Americans in the CFL and tons that wash out each year.
Could great college athletes come up and do well in the CFL? Of course, lots do however they are usually one or two new players not an entire new team.
All this being said I would love some of the top tier athletes in college or the NFL to come to the CFL with all the open room it would be amazing to watch.

This. Just a couple years of aging helps a ton-- see BYU being competitive with inferior athletes, add in pro weight training-- even Bama or 90s Nebraska gets pushed around (assuming they roid test the Huskers).

Alabama could have beaten the 0-16 Detroit Lions.

I guess you missed the part of his post where he said he has season tickets to a CFL team.

No, pros are pros for a reason.

What percentage of guys on the top college football teams don't even sniff a shot at pro football in any league? Answer that question and you'll have your answer.

Is illegal procedure allowed on every play?

Yeah I'll never understand the college team could be a pro team.
Now I absolutely don't know about CFL, but what does it mean they have an extra man? Um regardless of the format.. in this hypothetical match-up.. the teams will have the same amount of starters. Again, excuse my ignorance on CFL though.
The guy brought up Bama. Which Bama? Bama last year? Bama who just pulled it out against Clemson.. and the same Bama that lost to Ole Miss.. The same Ole Miss who lost 3 games? Oh and some people point out turnovers hurt Bama.. there's always excuses when the lose.. but if they can't protect the ball versus an Ole Miss.. how are they going to do so versus grown men in the NFL.

Yes because half the roster has to be Canadian nationals. Plus, the CFL is about 2 steps below the NFL. Each NFL team has several dozen players getting ready for training camp that have no chance of making the team. The CFL is full of players that can't even receive a training camp invite.
