As much as posters talk shite about Dwight, I guarantee not a single one would bet their life against Dwight winning a championship with the Rockets.

lol, what would I win?

For a winning prize of ten million dollars, I'd bet my life that Dwight never wins a championship with the Rockets. Because it's not going to happen. He's turning 30. 4-5 more years of him being a good to great player (tops, because of his injuries). So much competition in the West. The LeBrons waiting in the East.

Not happening.

I love how Rocket fans keep pointing to Ty fricking Lawson as their savior

Well, let's see.

Ty Lawson averaged 15 points, 10 assists last season. He averaged about 18 points and 9 assists the year before.

He's a top-10 PG. Him and a group of others could all be considered in that 8-13 or so range of PG rankings.

The Rockets made it to the Western Conference Finals last season, and yet they were missing something last year. I'm not even counting the fact that their starting PF and PG missed the entire playoffs. The whole year they were missing something.

And it was on offense.

Surprisingly, their defense was very good last year. Offensively they were missing another play-maker besides Harden. And, they were lacking at the PG spot.

Now, they've filled both needs. They have a true starting-caliber PG... a fringe all-star caliber player. They have also filled their huge need for another play-maker.

Lawson and Harden were both in the top 10 in points created by either scoring or assisting. Now both are on the same team. And there will be no lulls when Harden rests, because Lawson can still be a play-maker on the court.

And not only was the starting PG spot improved greatly, but now Beverley will be coming off the bench, improving the bench spot greatly as well.

They also picked up Marcus Thornton, who is a scorer who can get some minutes to score some points on offense if they need another scoring option.

Their defense last year was one of the best in the league... and now the offense next year will be one of the best in the league. If they can maintain their stellar defense from last season.. and there is no reason why they can't.. then they could potentially have a top 5 offense AND a top 5 defense.

Teams who are top 5 on both sides of the ball historically have won titles.

Exatly. Dwights game will recede faster than Lebrons hairline. He'll be done by 33 like Karl and Gary looking to be a role player to win a ship.
