When will enough be enough in Austin?

I enjoyed the melt for a couple seasons, but now I am beginning to feel sorry for them.

A team with that much in tradition, resources, and prestige should never field consistent shite shows.

ETA: not blaming Strong, mind you, but something major needs to change

He should not because he has lost the team. If guys are tweeting at halftime you should be fired.

So you're not blaming strong, but you want him fired halfway thru his second year?

Jim Harbaugh has turned around Michigan after 5 games with a nice 4-1 record. That's without unlimited resources, and dumb recruiting cycles. Oklahoma is going to steamroll Texas this week. Personally, I woulda ran him off this morning to light a fire into the team because they have quit. It's the Red River Rivalry game bro, it means a ton to the Longhorns fan base. Might see Texas fan pull a soccer hooligan and burn down the Cotton Bowl and put that dump of a stadium out of its misery. Boomer Sooner 48-10. RIP Strong

They just fired their AD last week, or two weeks ago. That's major.

Ahh the new age of college football.

Where a tweet from an 18 year old boy could be a reason in some idiot's mind for you to lose a million dollar job.

It hasn't even been 2 years. Go ahead and fire him that way the next guy knows he has less than 24 months to prove himself.

Let's see how many people line up to fill out applications.

Then there's the element of not having an AD to fire his arse.

It's a trap. Do not feel sorry for Texas because lord knows if they were playing well they would be acting like the shitheads we all know they are.

i like Charlie strong. I think he's a good guy and a real good football coach. He's trying to overhaul the culture in Austin. It's a big job. He's trying to do things the right way. I admire the way he's trying to do things the right way.

But Texas should never be losing a game by 50. Ever. And it ultimately falls at the feet of the head coach. It just seems impossible to think UT has fallen to such depths. From 10 win seasons no matter what, to a dumpster fire that no good coach in country wants to deal with.

New AD will clip him. Baylor and TCU were the laughing stock of the southwest conference. Now, look at what they are doing. Winning the recruiting battle year after year in the state. It is unbelievable that some are saying it's too soon, or give him time. That's bullshite. Saban for example won a conference title in year 2 at Lsu and Bama. Stoops left his job as DC at Florida and won a title in year 2. Don't tell me that Texas is young. Plenty other teams with Freshmen and Sophomores are having success. Texas has taken 10 steps back since last year and it's not getting better.

just a point of clarification, saban won in year 3 at Bama. (Though he did have it turned around in year 2 and held the #1 ranking the second half of the year until Florida beat them in the SECCG and went on to win the NC)

Saban year 1: 07 LSU
2: 08 Florida
3: 09 Bama

EDT: and LSU won in wild underdog form in 01, saban's 2nd year at LSU. I'm not sure 2 years and conference title or bust is fair, but being humiliated by a supposed little brother? It's a bad look

They should go after Utah's coach.
He maintained Utah as a top MWC program when Meyer left. And now he has built them into a top Pac 10 program (or so it appears).
Texas, unlike most successful football programs in the south, is not an eat-sleep-drink football school. They need a coach who has been thoroughly vetted.

Michigan has as many resources as any school in the country.

The way Mullen makes it sound is at UF everyone was miserable because of the expectations and pressure. Think Kyle learned from Urban don't put yourself in a national champ or bust situation

They'll end up letting him go but he'll go on to be successful somewhere that is willing to support him. Right now he's working against a bunch of entitled players and an even more entitled booster system.
