How bad would a dude like Bryce Harper destroy college pitching? Let's say you threw him on an SEC team.. What position would he play, and what would his offensive numbers be like?

He probably remains a catcher in college.

And yeah, wrecks shop.

Well he hit .443 with 31 homers and 98 RBI in 228 at bats in junior college as a 17 year old. I think the increase in competition in the SEC and Harper's improvement as a player even out and he puts up similar numbers to that.

I'd love to see someone of his caliber play in the SEC.. It would be fun to watch.

Some donkey college coach would probably red shirt him; he would get mad and transfer to a Juco; wind up back at a mid level school; get a girl pregnant; drop out and take a job at UPS.

Most likely the scenario if he went to college

Well he played catcher at a junior college at 17 years old and in 66 games, he hit 31 home runs, 98 RBIs, hitting .443/.526/.987 with a wood bat.

Lebron in college would have been awesome to see as well. He and Harper would have been unfair.

98 RBI in 228 At Bats is absolutely absurd

I know, right. I just enjoy watching the college game a lot more than the pros. Something about multi million dollar primadonnas ruin it for me. Except the NFL.. I still love that shite. Would be fun to watch.. No doubt

Well he's from the West Coast, went to a West Coast Nevada jr. college.

If he wanted Div 1...probably would have stayed close to home...might even have gone to UNR...

But probably UCLA, USC, Washington or Oregon schools.

Not to turn this into the thousandth pros vs. college thread, but the metal bats just kill me. I love everything about the college game except for that. Takes me completely out of it. I'll take MLB any day.

Complete opposite. Pro players are so much better, on every level.

Same reason I just can't get into college FB.

College's incessant bunting is a big turn off as well.
