It's not like Larry is reading this right now and I'm hurting his feelings. I felt the commercial was contrived and stupid and I called it out

That answering machine voice cannot be his mom. Sounds like a standard robot.

It kinda is. Maybe not vastly, but it's different. The more schools figure out that online programs are viable, then the more the landscape will change.

The way people can degree shop now has made college different also.

College also has been devalued some, I'm going to catch hell. But with everyone having an ability to get a degree the Masters is going to become what a Bachelors was sooner than later.

I am curious how the companies will actually view the ASU online degrees

They'll be an interesting case study

I hate they have such "good" commercials. They really are touching and motivating until you remember that it's from a diploma mill. It's the people who don't know any better that will suffer

College degrees stopped meaning something 20 years ago.

Especially Arizona schools as Ned Flanders said years ago about ASU.

Doctorate degrees are the new B.A.

This is my underlining point here. I like Larry as a player and seems like a good dude, but promoting this shite just makes me shake my head

The sentimental touch of that story is diluted a little bit whenever you're repping shady degree mills

Yeah, just a little bit

It will be. I doubt job candidates are putting "online" to indicate. It would be pretty easy to infer off a resume though. For example, listing a job out of state during the same time enrolled.

Of course for that to happen the employer would have to actually care.

I feel like any ASU student whether online or on campus, would get an interview question like "i see you went to ASU, I just got off from vacation, how did you like your time in Tempe?"
