I will have no part in this thread...for it is April.
But I love the way we're scratching out wins this early. This is the best April I can remember in quite a while for the hometown team.

Starters are having a hard time getting consistent hits. Well, except for Jose. But we knew that already.
On the flip side, pitching has been decent, with moments of solid.

Jonah Keri wrote about the Astros in his top 30 this week and said that the Astros have been terribly unlucky on offense so far this year.
That being said, the offense will get better, but the pitching has to regress at some point right?

It will, but the more I watch Keuchel and McHugh the more I think they're for real, and by extension that Strom is a really legit pitching coach. They aren't going to end with a 3.18 team ERA but a lot of the improvement is because of the bullpen, which I think is real. Gregorson is solid and it looks like they found a gem in Will Harris.
I think I said 77 wins in our preseason thread, but I didn't see them winning some of the series they have so I'll change it to 500.

I've always been overly-homerish when it comes to the Astros but they have as good a chance of any to win the division. I like the Mariners to eventually turn it around but they've got some plenty of question marks.

Yeah I also think the West could be won with 85 wins this year. No team looks really strong. So if the Astros finish around 500 they will be in it to the end.
