Not this good.
Regression expected. He's a solid everyday player though.

certainly but his last 81 games dating back to last year have been absurd.

He will regress this year, he's not going to finish hitting 300+ IMO.
I think 280/350 20-25 HRs and excellent defense is where he peaks, and that's pretty damn good

DiMaggio's record is in jeopardy no doubt

I didn't realize he was on that pace recently. Wasn't he sent down earlier last season because he was struggling mightily?

2014 was a rough year for him. He hit below .200 in 400+ plate appearances.
He spent the first half of 2015 in the minors before being called back up at the end of last season. He played well towards the end of last season and then has only improved this season.

Zips/Steamer has him hitting .265/.330/.440ish ROS.
I think that seems about right, he's somewhere in the middle between his awful 2013-2014 and the current insane streak he's on now.
That is a very useful player for sure. .265ish hitter who brings you some decent patience and pop and plus D.

Obviously he is not the second coming of Trout, but I think he can comfortably sit a 280 with power. Couple that with his gold glove level defense and he's a premier outfielder.

I'd be reluctant to lock him up long term. He's been inconsistent dating back to college years. His highs are REALLY high, but his lows are REALLY low. It wouldn't surprise me to see him hit .300+, 25 HRS, .390 OBP this year and then struggle to hit .240, 20 HRS, .310 OBP next year.

Peaking too early
Not sure if you mean this year or career-wise. He scuffled big time when he came up in 2014 after a huge spring that year. Took him a season and a half in the majors/ Pawtucket express to figure things out. He is an exceptional defender, very good range, catches the ball and one of the better CF arms in baseball. Offensively runs well, and is now showing some plate discipline and fewer holes in his swing. I think the low end expectation for me is a .270 with high end .290 wish, maybe close to .300 (if he continues to take more BB) and OPS in the low-mid 700's (prob .730-.750). It appears that he may be better offensively that the organization thought when he was drafted.
He plays hard, by all accounts is a nice clubhouse presence and has very good baseball instincts. My understanding is that he handled his significant struggles early in his MLB career very well, and redoubled his efforts to improve. He will be a solid everyday contributor, especially if he is able to stay in the lower half of the lineup with good bats around him.
