re: How dumb does Michigan feel?

Who honestly gives a shite. UM has been truly nationally elite like twice over the past 50 years. They're solid but not that amazing of a program. Their fans have to come to grips with the fact that they will never, ever be as good as OSU has been under Meyer.

I'll agree with you there. UM has, since the early 90s, been a program that would lose at least 2 games a year. Our tradition is lots of 9-3, 10-3, seasons with an occasional 11-2.
We are far more wisconsin than we are OSU.

The state of Michigan does not produce great talent as it once did. Harbaugh really has to start focusing on the south and the Atlantic. The top players in ohio and Pennsylvania are going to OSU or PSU. I know he's targeted NJ with mixed results. I really expected a lot more from Rashan Gary.

2016 and 2017 were top 7 recruiting classes for UM, with many of those players coming from outside the midwest.
Michigan has certainly been recruiting at an "elite" level recently.
We have 2 5stars out of the south already for 2019.

Just because they were rated high doesn't mean much. Look at guys like Bredeson, walker, Gary, Onwenu, etc. I know they're still young but I'm not seeing much from a lot of these guys from the 16 class.

I really do think scheme matters. Michigan's offensive staff (and harbaugh) is making the same mistake Les Miles did. Les told opposing defenses "here's our gameplan. Try to stop it"
PSU's offensive staff says "study the {insert next opponent D's here}. We'll exploit its weaknesses"

I like that list but Id take Harbaugh over Jimbo.
I'd also like to see Gary Patterson away from TCU.
Peterson has proved he's a great coach by bringing Washington back to glory.

At least he's consistent
Not every program can have saban Meyer or dabo

meh
He beats them last year in Columbus with a proper spot.
I still think its premature to write him off. Michigan lost a ton of production from last year's team. If they struggle next year then everyone can pile on.
I think his biggest mistake was hitching his wagon to Speight.

Lovely list of coaches who have actually won at the college level. We have titles, conference championships, coach of the year awards, etc
THEN we have Harbaugh, with none of that.
never change tigerdroppings

Nope.
He got a proper spot, and lost.

ESPN has duped these guys so hard into thinking hes an actual elite coach that they continue on with subjective arguments and excuses
"he had a bad spot"
"he needs time to recruit FL"
"he has a backup QB" (that he apparently cant develop)
"hes still top 5 coach" (with zero titles, lol)
"just wait and see rocket" (its year 3 now)
and on and on and on

Only thing I’d like more than HarBaw failing is for him to do well and make Urbs quit again.

Mich replaced berkeley as #1 public academic.
Uc berkeley #2.
I think in a couple of years harbaugh will compete again. They lost a lot to nfl.
Its harder than stanford to recruit for.
