That would be great! 5 years seems a little quick for a return with so many cities bidding in these days, but I think New Orleans is one of the top 2 or 3 choices whenever they bid.

Anywhere that gets a new stadium is going to have a decent shot at hosting, so that will put Minnesota and Atlanta in the queue as well, although I think the NFL likes a stadium to have at least a season or two under its belt before hosting to make sure all the wrinkles are ironed out.

Indy, Minny, ATL and Miami are the "leaders" for super 52 but we will see.

Not really. Miami hosted in 2007 and then again in 2010. They were pushing for the 2016 game (I think) but that got killed when the refurb to the stadium got canned.

I think whenever Miami upgrades their stadium they will have a good shot at hosting.

It seems like the NFL usually waits at least a couple of seasons before a new stadium hosts (Metlife opened in 2010 and is hosting 2014, Levi's is opening in 2014 and hosting 2016, etc), so I would be surprised to see Atlanta hosting in 2018 when the stadium isn't even supposed to be complete until 2017. The Vikings Stadium is supposed to be completed in 2016, so it might be a possibility.

And Indy got good reviews for its hosting so I expect them to get another one sometime, but NOLA is a lot more exciting place to visit in February than Indy.

I'm not saying it never happens, I just think a 5 year turnaround is a little fast in this day and age where more cities are bidding in (including cold weather locations like Indy and NYC) and lots of franchises are building new facilities.

I like Minneapolis a lot during the summer months but a Super Bowl there in late Jan/early Feb will suck so much arse.

sure public transportation could be improved, but that'll get done in plenty of time. i bet the Reliant Area will be stunning.

The public transport situation is improving some as well. There's currently a lot of expansion to the MetroRail. I rode it to/from the Final Four. It worked out quite well in my opinion.

I'm kind of hoping there's a Snowmagedon style storm Super Bowl week when it's in the new Met Life Stadium.

There's a metro rail that ends right at Reliant and goes directly to downtown. Most of the nightlife is kind of outside downtown, but not more than a mile or so.

And even if it did run more places, people aren't going to take the Metro to the club. For Super Bowl week they're going to be arriving in limos, town cars and rented sports cars. For us peons, there's The Wave, it now runs all over the good nightlife area's inside the loop and not just Washington Ave.

I'm kind of hoping for that also. Not anything that endangers people, but I think it will be funny as hell if all the rich beautiful people are stuck watching a game/dealing with a ton of snow/sleet/freezing rain, etc.

IMO planning the biggest sporting event of the year for an outside venue in the northeast in February is really just asking for trouble. IMO they should stick to places with temperate climates and indoor or retractable stadiums.

It will be a done deal once the FL legistlature gets their head out of their arse.

The NFL wants to be back in Miami badly and had pretty much assured the city it would get the big one, SB 50 if the stadium deal had gone through.

Sucks because Miami probably is the best host city for a SB IMO.

Besides the game being located nowhere near the parties.

The entire city of new Orleans is walking distance

Miami is in my top three, not sure I'd call it #1. I think that Miami, New Orleans, and Southern California all have their perks (of course LA isn't getting another one until they get a team, but SD is pretty nice also).

Miami has the beach and better January weather, but New Orleans is a lot of fun b/c it is so compact. You can ditch the car and walk from the stadium to the restaurants and bars.

There is a reason NOLA and Miami have each hosted 10 Super Bowls (southern Cali has also hosted 10 with 7 in LA and 3 in SD). Aside from those locations nowhere has hosted more than 4 (Tampa).
