Solid year for the Rockets, but the goal is a championship, and with our young pieces, the window is still wide open.

I think there were three weaknesses these playoffs. Point guard play, inconsistency at the power forward position, and lack of wing scoring/creativity apart from Harden. I think the return of D-Mo will help solve the PF problem. Terrence Jones struggled in the playoffs for the second straight year. I won't be upset if he's not a Rocket next year. I like Josh Smith, and I think if Morey can figure out a way to keep him cheap, we should do that.

I'd like to address point guard play and wing scorer/creativity with one addition. Let's add Brandon Jennings. I think the guy is perfect for Moreyball. He shoots the three pretty well, and he is a playmaker. I think McHale and Houston would both be very good for him. And at the end of the day, I will take some of his negatives if it means that our offense is less predictable and has another attacking threat. James Harden had no help on the perimeter with Terry and Prigioni, and it wasn't much better with Beverley. But Brandon Jennings is a real threat who can beat people off the dribble, opening things up for everyone else.

Any other ideas?

Perfect to pair with Harden so he can offset Harden's unclutchness.

Brandon Jennings is an interesting player who I never even thought about. But isn't he with Detroit and wasn't he a big reason why they started playing so well before he was injured? Not sure they'd be looking to get rid of him.

He is one of Harden's best friends in the league along with Demar Derozan, so I know Harden would like the move.

And I agree with your areas of need.

1) Trade Dwight.

2) Add a true PG.

3) It doesn't matter. The Pelicans are coming.

Well. They have Reggie Jackson, and I don't think they can keep both.

Man... Pelicans fans REALLY are quick haters.

I think the series would have been different with D-Mo healthy, but not having a true PG killed us.

I agree that Jones probably will be packing his bags. To me, he just doesn't have it yet.

Contrary to most fans I have talked to, I like Smoove and Howard in the starting lineup. I don't think Josh needs AS MUCH olaying time as he got (if we address rhe PG issue), but he is a good player that we could use~24 minutes a game from. Maybe that would cut down on his cold streaks. He typically comes out hot, then cools down, and a lot of times finishes strong.

Not sure where we go for PG help, but picking one up should push us over the edge, provided D-Mo stays healthy.

Brewer has already said he wants to stay. I hope we keep him. He is the type of player you want younger guys to learn from.

I know you care. You are hoping for a disaster offseason. Your constant posting in Rockets threads is very indicative of your fear.

Rockets should go out and get Ty Lawson and run every team in the league out of the gym. Much better for Moreyball than Jennings would be.

Yeah I'd like him on the pels

I remember hearing his 3 point shot wasn't great but he was fine in houston.

ETA: Sportac

Has FAs/Salary cap stuff etc

Might be useful

We have no idea about anything. We don't know what the plan is for Smith, Brewer, Beverley, Jones, etc. They have all said they want to return, but I'm not sure what Morey wants to do.

Most people seem to think the Rockets will try to get some backcourt help. That's about it.

Most Rockets' fans would like Ty Lawson and have talked a lot about wanting Ty Lawson on the team. But getting Ty Lawson is another story.

You gotta take what's available and for a reasonable price.
