re: Help settle a dispute: Anthony Davis or Blake Griffin

Outside of Lebron and maybe a healthy Durant I honestly can not believe people are not ranking Davis the best player in the league. Davis is a two way player and the most elite big man in the league. Many of these players are nothing special on one end of the floor.
Outside of the knock on Davis missing a few games he should have definitely been MVP this year. The only reason you wouldn't give it to him is if you were giving it to the best player in the world again, Lebron.
Again there is no way a GM is going to ever pick Curry over Davis to just build a team around. That is delusional.

this seems to be commonly accepted but I think GMs woul take curry. Curry is currently on his way to true superstardom. His style of play is what people pay to see. He's just worth more money and is infinitely less likely to have his career dragged down by leg/foot problems.
This just about sums it up. LINK
Lebron is still the best player on the planet and probably will be for the next 2-3 years, but I wouldn't trade AD for anyone. He absolutely will end up as the best player in the NBA, and we have no clue what his ceiling is. AD>Griffin easily. Only thing Griffin does better at the moment is distribute the ball, but that is something Davis is getting much better at. I think he'll end up averaging 3+ assists a game next season.

Is this similar to you telling us Curry is better than Bird.

I think AD is better, but it's close. I have AD ranked as the 4th best player right after Durant.

Davis is in the top tier for NBA guys that I would personally define as (in no order): Lebron, Durant, Westbrook, Curry, Paul, Harden and Davis.
Griffin is in that next tier.
Griffin is in that next tier.

Griffins handles are much better and Griffin also has a back to the basket post up game. And some may disagree but imo Griffin is the #1 finisher at the rim.

I'll agree with that, and the handles. Davis is no slouch with the ball, though. He can move really well with it.

I will jump back into this thread and list the "dream" starting 5 and subs for my team. I am sure I will get down votes and all kinds of insults, but I don't care.

On the bench next to Russ and Kawhi.
I would not put Chris Paul on my team since I have 3 other PG's.

Better than Griffin, but probably 5th best player in the NBA.

Davis>>>Griffin.
Blake is one of the most overrated players in the NBA.

A real superstar would wear a rainbow tanktop to an Astros baseball game.

Davis is a once a generation type
Griffin is a better than good player but not near on the same level...potentially
