Trying to help a friend settle a debate. Someone is claiming the Texans had the top ranked defense after week 2, but they are 14 now, after playing the Saints. I've checked a few places but couldn't find the rankings after week 2.

I thought it was possible given their competition (Colts and Dolphins) but I wasn't certain. Then I thought it could've been #1 pass defense?

Any help is appreciated.

I think I heard the pass D thing too. I think it is all a function of small sample size and level of competition through 2 weeks. The Cowboys put some points up on the Jets week 1, the Ravens tea-bagged the Steelers, Saints got in a shootout with the Packers, etc.

The Houston Texans travel to the Big Easy to visit the New Orleans Saints in Week 3 of the 2011 NFL season.

The Texans top rushing attack (ranking No. 1 overall in the NFL) will face-off against the Saints' No. 7 rush defense and the Saints' No. 3 passing offense that will face the Texans' top pass defense (also ranked No. 1 overall in the NFL).

A battle royale within walking distance of Bourbon Street. The following are the keys to the game for both teams:

is that more unbelievable or the fact that the patriots have the worst defense?

Sad thing is we've given up 3 pts/game more than them this year too.

ETA: tied for 2nd in offensive scoring with them too though.

Don't doubt the Patriots D for one bit- every game has been a shootout. I realize it is only through three weeks, but playing the Saints knocked the Texans from #1 to #14 D. Crazy...
