Probably not. He just had an ill-fitting group of players. Sometimes the one and done works, sometimes it doesn't. It's not like Duke has had to slum it in the NIT

Duke had a terrible season in 2007. Horrendous for Duke standards. Bounced in the 1st round then next season they were bounced in round 2. I remember people asking these questions then. Duke ended winning a national title two seasons later then another one since then.

They were not a top 8 team.
Everyone knew that but the committee.
A run in the the ACC tournament does not erase a years worth of games.
And that run in the ACC is looking looking like folderol as the ACC crumbles in this tournament.
He didn't have a great team. And coach K has never taken an underseeded team to the the title.
He's either #1 seed or done. Complete opposite of Izzo.
One time coach K took Duke to the title as a#2 seed....But that's as far as his magic goes.
Best team or bust out of the tournament.

To put in perspective, other all time greats have won one national title. Jim Boeheim, tom Izzo, John Caiipari, and Bill self have won one national championship. Coach K has won five. Five

They just won the ACC this year and an NCAA title 2 years ago.
Edit: Before some knucklehead brings it up, the ACC tournament winner is the ACC champion per their media guide and trophy.

I will for sure. We're kinda new to this "elite at basketball" thing so it might take a decade or two. In the meantime you can watch from home, again.
