Has getting your head coach stolen ever worked out so well for anyone?

-end of 2013 USC snipes Sarkisian from Washington
-Washington immediately upgrades to Petersen
-Early 2015 Sarkisian is fired by USC after repeatedly showing up to work drunk
-2016 Washington is 12-1, conference champs, in the playoffs

Has anyone ever been so thankful to have their coach stolen?

Obviously apples and oranges, but it rustles me that OSU came out of the Tressel thing better off, even taking into account the Fickell and ban years.

It's starting to look like Bill O'Brien going to Houston was a good move, but we'll find out next year.

I will say that I'm kind of worried about Mike Shula syndrome with Franklin. I remember the "Bama is Back" cover stories in 2005. But I have faith

Ole Miss doesn't steal people. They dig through the dumpster until they find someone serviceable. Kind of like what LSU did this year.

Not sure if this is meant to be football only, but I imagine Michigan basketball fans are happy Bill Frieder told Bo that he was taking the Arizona State job.

Not "stolen" but Rich Rod turning y'all down worked out pretty damn good.

I think O'Brien would have won big there after the sanctions went away

Frank Broyles went 5-4 in his one season at Missouri before Arkansas took him.

We replaced him with Dan Devine who went 93-37 (.702) with 9 top 20 finishes, 4 bowl wins, and one 11-0 season with an Orange Bowl victory. He eventually became AD and hired legendary hoops coach Norm Stewart before leaving to coach the Packers.

Granted Broyles did pretty damn well himself, so probably a wash. Definitely an "everybody wins" scenario.

I'd rather the saints still not have a superbowl
