Has FS1 Strategically Become the Anti-ESPN?
With ESPN seemingly putting far left politics over ratings and quality control, it seems Fox has Strategically cast big personalities that are center-left to centers right which aligns with most of the country, especially ally red blooded sports fans.

Clay Travis, Whitlock, Cowherd, and to a lesser extent Skip Bayless... are all the antithesis of what espn has currently become.

Personally I think it's a wise move, I know I watch zero espn anymore outside of live games (even stopped watching PTI which 5 yrs ago seemed unthinkable) I now will pop on FS1 regularly if I'm home during the day.

Doesn't matter if they don't have decent sporting events.

Does 13 million subscribers lost and Disney finishing $1 billion off the mark in revenue matter??

Hiring many of the same a-holes from ESPN whose shitty hot take debate shows have ruined sports programming is becoming anti ESPN?

It's basically WWF talent flocking to WCW in the mid/late 90s all over again.

I don't think they are doing it to much extent but it would be a smart move for them to market themselves as the anti ESPN

I know a lot of those guys aren't too popular around here, but I'll take them over Smith, Jemele, and anyone on around the horn any day of the week.

Difference is, FS1 isn't winning any ratings war like WCW did

I've been listening to Cowherd for almost 15 years.

Yes he is a pompous arse and I disagree with a lot of what he says, but I enjoy his show, his analogies to real life, and his discussions on gambling.

But they're winning the culture war on the MSB(which doesn't really matter). Make ESPN Great Again by making it FS1, which was just the ESPN that everybody hated 2 years ago minus the sporting events.

NBC Sports Channel just shows the games without any of the talking heads. It's a shame they're relegated to hockey, soccer, and Olympic sports.

I am quite appreciative of the fact they only show hockey. Let's not ruin it.

It's a nice change of pace from the other options. Fills a niche market without the bs politics or hot takes
