Has any athlete ever said "I just want to enjoy this moment" after a loss

that eliminates his team from the postseason? That was Prince Fielder's response to a question about his impending free agency. Anybody else find that strange?

Exactly. Prince has been with those guys for a long time and this is the last time they'll share a locker room

Don't find it strange. It's the farthest he's ever been. I'd be wanting to soak it all in too.

I don't find it strange. The odd time that I don't burn every bridge I've crossed with a group of people when I know I'm never going to see them again, I try to enjoy it too.

I guess it seemed to me like he wasn't bothered by the loss at all.

If you tried your hardest, and you came up short... why would you be bothered by it? Chances are he's going to be scooped up by a large market team that will win at least one championship in his time there. Hell, Boston needs a DH

Seriously though, the chances Henry tells Ben Cherington to make a splash move is around 100000 percent, but I would be insanely surprised if it was Prince "My knees won't last through a 4 year contract, much less 7" Fielder.

Happens all the time. Guys are always upset when their teams come up short, even when the play their asses of. This just kinda adds to the notion that the Brewers played and looked in this series as if they were just happy to have made it this far.

I thought Big Papi had a pretty good year this year.

Easily the worst nickname in sports.

I think he needs to ride the bus with Crash and get his wording down right.

Yep, but he hasn't exactly been endearing himself to Boston.

He's also very, very pissy with management over his contract.
