Ovi turns 30! Now we do the happy dance!

Now, that his 30's are complete, we can take a look at just how awesome his 20's were. Ovechkin scored 475 goals in his 20's. Only two players scored more, and one of them was Gretzky. The other, Mike Bossy, played in the big offense 80s. Ovi also put up these numbers in a time in which offense has declined dramatically.

He has six 50-goal seasons. Only nine active players have one, and only two have three (the other one is Jagr, sitting at 3 50-goal seasons). He is essentially lapping the field.

Here's to the Russian Machine, the only active player who you can compare to Mike Bossy without looking like a moron.

Such a fun player to watch and his career has been fantastic.

Bingo. Partially due to faster, more composed defenses (rather than a group of enforcers who the Gretzky's just simple out-skate.), but also a rising level of goalie play, seemingly. Rather than 2 or 3 out of this world goalies, we have a bunch of really good keepers that are just tough to get shots past.

Ovechkin has handled both well.

You got it, Freaux. In a league full of dour, humorless players who are just trying to work through their blue collar cliches, it's nice to have a player who is just so damn joyous. Ovi is fun. He might be the most fun athlete in pro sports right now. Enjoy him.

Love watching him. Plus I think it's cool that he thinks he's not over or too big to keep doing silly stuff in the All Star Weekend skills challenge shoot out.

Happy 30th Sasha.

And to people who spew bullshite about him only winning individual awards, he's won multiple World Championships with Russia.

It's like he enjoys doing the very thing he excels at. If only more people were like that.

Ovie is the man.

Hope the caps moves this offseason give him a chance at the cup.
