The UFC is in a strange place right now. You have a lot of big named stars threatening to leave. Not to mention all the talk of a fighters union and all the negatives that the Reebok deal brought about.

The UFC better make a change and fast because once this gets steam they can't runaway from it.

Can someone catch me up one what's going on? Why did GSP do this?
Posted on 10/17/16 at 4:16 pm to Azazello
UFC is supposedly low-balling him and not giving him fights.
Posted on 10/17/16 at 4:38 pm to Jester
They will give him any fightz he wants...but they wobt make up the salary he loses because of tue Reebok deal. The ufc got owned in that deal.i dont blame gsp at all

What was the reebok deal? I haven't watched fighting since 2010ish.

So instead of fighters being able to wear sponsors in the cage or even during fight week they are now forced to only wear Reebok gear and are compensated between $5k-25k a fight to do so, based on number of fights theyve had for Zuffa.
That means a guy like GSP who pulled in probably $200k plus per fight in sponsorships now would only get 10% of that

Yep.
It's bs
I do miss condom depot being advertised.
Dan Henderson could have had levitra sponsor his last fight if it weren't for reebok
Kidding aside the deal is crap. I think the only guy that likes it is kabib nurmogommedov

that's because Khabib is a fricknut commie Russian that feels like he's owned money for doing nothing.
He's got a huge fanbase according to himself but he couldn't pull a sponsor for himself at all.

I think everyone could see once that deal was signed it was going to end up being a hell of a headache down the line for the UFC

Love to see GSP fight Askren

The UFC was completely stupid for signing this deal with Reebok... nobody wears their shite anymore... they haven't been popular since all the gangster in Nola wore their classic gangster shoes
