I'd have to go with Tommie Frazier -- only player to win MVP of 3 straight national championship games, and QB of the greatest college team of all-time ('95 Nebraska). Had Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis with their hands on their hips begging for oxygen in the 4th quarter in the Orange Bowl, won by Nebraska, and then totally dismantled the undefeated Danny Weurrfel-led Florida Gators 62-24 the following year, rushing for nearly 200 yards including one of the greatest runs in football history when he broke 8 tackles and dashed 75 yards to the end zone.

Who else?

Keith Byars. Flutie got it because of the Miami game. Byars was the favorite going into his senior year and broke his foot and was never the same. He turned into a damned fine fullback in the NFL.

Junior season

1764 rushing yards
479 receiving yards
24 touchdowns

Jerry Stovall - perhaps the GOAT two way player.

Emmitt Smith. Finished 7th in votes his junior season. Wonder if he'd have won it had he come back for his senior season.

Weird he didn't win.

Scored 6 TDs against ND in one game.

He accumulated 24 school, conference and NCAA records, including over 5,400 all-purpose yards and 52 touchdowns.

What happened was criminal.

The youngsters can't even fathom this, but there was a time when ESPN legitimately loathed the SEC. They actively and unapolgetically campaigned for Woodson since he was a "Michigan Man." His plays led SportsCenter every night and "Peyton can't even beat Steve Spurrier one time."

I'll never forget the SEC Championship Game. It was like the first time Peyton played on ABC all year, and John Saunders (who hosted the studio show at the time) said before the game, "I don't care how Peyton does tonight. I'm voting for Charles Woodson." Some solid "journalism" right there.

Collegiate career only?

There have been some incredible players who didn't win the Heisman, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, including recent players like Ndamukong Suh, Tyrann Mathieu, Glenn Dorsey, etc.

You could make a legitimate non-Heisman GOAT case for someone like Orlando Pace or Mike Singletary as well.

I think Dorsey and Singletary are not in same conversation as people like Pace, Green, Suh, Mathieu when talking greatest ever not to win

I'm not sure if you mean Dorsey and Singletary are a cut above or a cut below.

Singletary was an absolute monster and is a staple at LB on any collegiate all-time list. So are Pace and Suh for that matter.
