Does anyone play a lot of golf in the Dallas area? I'm moving there in a couple of months and looking for a course to join. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Also, Dallas National is not an option

Northwood has an opening for a caddy. About the only way you'll sniff that snobatorium.

I would wait a while before I'd join a club...there are TONS of awesome courses and even more mediocre courses...you will be floored by your options. My favorite course is the tribute out near Frisco...

Yeah, that's what I'm leaning towards. Broohaven and Las Colinas look pretty nice, and are within 20 minutes of Uptown. Las Colinas is also running a pretty good membership special too with reduced initiation fees.

Any suggestions on apartment complexes in Uptown? I think I'm gonna go check some out in a couple of weeks, but it would be nice to already have a couple in mind.

I'm willing to spend 1K, but I've got a roommate lined up. Hopefully, doubles are a little less expensive.

Brookhaven has a TON of members and is a little run down. I'm at Hackberry Creek in Irving out by Las Colinas. It's a decent track, not too expensive and a convenient place to have a business lunch. Club Corp is the way to go. Join the Dallas Fort Worth Society of Clubs LINK and the DFW Young Executives: LINK and play great private courses all over Dallas for free or at greatly reduced rates.

Join Royal Oaks. I've been a member there for a few years and enjoy it.

Whats the initiation fee? I'm not trying to shell out 25-50K to join somewhere.

Club Corp is a scourge to country clubs.

The execs are former American Golf Corp and are leaning out every dime from the clubs, just like they did at AGC. If you belong to a Club Corp club other than Gleneagles in DFW you are getting a slow arse frick.
