Sucks that the Cubs have such an incredible record but don't have homefield advantage in the WS.

Even under the old system that wouldn't have been a factor.

Rooting for Tito and the Indians slightly, but honestly don't care who wins, it will be great if either does...

You sound like you're suffering from the little man syndrome. The good news is that you can recycle this thread over the next few years because the Cubs will be at the top of MLB for a good long time.

I wouldn't say that... We thought that about Tampa, Oakland, Miami, etc... Etc...

Cubs will have to answer questions about the rotation as Arrieta, Lester, and Lackey are all 30 or older.

Do you really want to compare these 3 teams to the Cubs payroll? Hendricks, Montgomery, and Lester are core rotation guys. Theo, Jed , and the farm system will take care of the rest. Prospects and money used wisely will keep the Cubs good for years to come.

Is Montgomery going to start next year? Lester will be 33/34? Lackey will be 38, Hammel is older as well. Not saying they can't keep it up but they have age in their rotation, their hitters are young and under contract for plenty more time though.

Hammel will be the 5th starter at a very affordable price. Montgomery will be in the pen to start, but you need more than 5 starters on your roster for health reasons. They have everyone locked up next year financially. Also, the Cubs finally get rid of the 15 million dollar contract of Edwin Jackson. Moves will have to be made in 2018,but the Cubs still have many prospects that are blocked in the minors.

They can deal prospects for pitching. They also have the Zas man who looked good and is on the playoff roster now. Clease is great pitching prospect. Oh, the Cubs also have a ton of money and a new tv deal coming in 2019. I think they will be just fine, although nothing is guaranteed in baseball.

I put a wager on the Indians to win the series at +170 odds. Might up it - I think it's tasty, especially with HFA
