You never throw at the head. No matter how heated the game gets you always tell your pitcher in between the shoulder blades.

I agree, but let's not act like the average high school pitcher has the control of Greg Maddox.

I hope the LHSAA makes an example of them... oh wait. They're a small Cenla school that was in the back pocket for the split...

Well the coach told the player he was throwing at his head. I understand if one slips

Grace's coach is just the same. Very full of himself.

If the kid was talking shite, then fair game to throw at his head. Good for the coach.

I personally would not have said anything. I would have just told my pitcher to do it.

However, no problem with the coach saying this whatsoever. Tell the kid to shut up.

I get it, but if you have ever watched or played any other sport it's the same thing. In football, if a db is running his mouth you hope your running back trucks him. The only difference with baseball is opportunity. Of course I am not a fan of throwing at a kids head, but if a player is show boating and talking shite, throw at his back. No different than any other sport besides you will have the opportunity to show them what being a dick gets them. BTW I am all for show boating a homerun or a K, but be man enough to take what Might come from it.

This is starting to be picked up nationally...

Hard to imagine a firing wont come of it. However, I've spoken to some coaching friends in the area and the following is what I've been told...

These two are district rivals with a history of this kind of behavior. Appernelty the "fireworks" comment was in response to the Glenmora team moving the first game of the home and away series (@Glenmora game) back because "we want it to be dark at the end of the game so we can shoot fireworks after we beat yall's arse."

Glenmora lost that 7-4 and then the following game... the one in which this incident happened... were losing 12-0 at the time and eventually lost 19-0. I was also told that the Grace coach, is very much the same type of person... not respected in the coaching ranks of CENLA. As evidenced by the video, it appears as though neither of these little girl coaches wanted any part of an actual altercation.

I remember that Grace coach from when I played high school and summer ball. He is a grade A douche! Was always hollering at somebody, whether it was his players, the opposing players, or the umps. Always bitching and crying about something.

Oh, and he's been rocking that sweet beard for at least 10 years

Sure. If a player is stealing signals or just being a gigantic a-hole, I've got no problem hitting him.....

If a team hasn't practiced enough to be able to change signals that's not the fault of the team taking advantage of it.

That was one of my favorite things about getting to second base, cracking the enigma code to relay to my team.

And if your kid gets hit in the head and injured really bad, still all good?

Throw and hit em between their shoulder blades or ribs. They wear helmets on their heads.

Both coaches are big douche bags with big ego problems. Umpire did the right thing. Hope no kid gets hurt over a coach's ego!
