Also, the less targets for Julio and more weapons around him should lead to a higher average, yet Calvin sits at 16.1 for his career while Julio was at 15.8 this year

have you ever seen Matt Ryan throw a deep ball? Have you ever seen Matt Stafford throw a deep ball?

Out of the top 15 Qbs in the NFL it could be argued Matt Ryan has the weakest arm. Stafford is top 3 easily with Flaaco only for sure having a stronger arm.

Julio is a beast and the only Wr that is hands down better is Megatron. Any other argument for any other Wr is just an argument with no basis.

Once again you prove your ignorance. There are 11-13 wr with better tags than Julio. Roddy white gets the def's best cb. RODDY HAS MORE YARDS, YARDS PER GAME, RECEPTIONS, and MORE RECEPTIONS OF 20 or more yards than JULIO. But yeah no basis can be made why Julio isn't a top 3 wr. Oh except for the little thing we call STATS( how we measure a player's succes).

How has survival of the fittest not taken you out?

In their first 2 years, Julio has more receptions, yards, and touchdowns on fewer targets than CJ. It's not far fetched to say his ceiling is just as high as Calvin's

I think Gil Brandt must be taking his poll in Alabama. That's about the only place you'll find 4 people out of 10 taking Julio over Megatron.

FWIW, I think Julio is probably the 2nd best receiver in the game and head and shoulders above A.J., but Megatron is in a class of his own.

I think he is well on his way to being elite but I'd give the nod to Larry Fitzgerald, Dez Bryant, or Brandon Marshall right now. Just to name a few.

I would take Johnson, then Fitzgerald, then AJ Green, then Jones.

Jones benefits from having Roddy White on the other side taking attention.

Marshall is getting mad underrated on this thread. Based on last season, Calvin is tops and BMarsh is second IMO. He is incredibly dangerous after the catch.

Honestly, there are a bunch of really good WR out there right now. It is kind of hard to form a good list.

Probably the top ten (not really in order):
Calvin
Marshall
AJ
Fitz
Andre
Cruz
Roddy
Dez
Julio
Percy

Also, this is leaving out Vincent Jackson, Demaryius Thomas, Steve Smith, and Reggie Wayne.

Actually, there are probably only 3 to 4 guys you've listed that I definitely would not take over Julio.

Simple question is: if you replace Megatron with Julio in Detroit's offense, could Julio put up similar numbers? I say yes. He can make a defense as good as the 49ers look bad when he's on.

Gumps gone Gump

As noted above, Julio isnt even the best receiver on his own team but you want me to believe he's #1 in the entire league???

I now know Gil Brandt is an idiot. If Julio had a real qb he would be a lot closer to megatron.

He also "preferred" Roger Staunach over Terry Bradshaw, how did that one work out for him?
