Gary Kubiak returns to Denver, and John Elway extended as highest paid NFL GM

Gary Kubiak was recently hired by Denver again as Senior Personnel Advisor, after retiring earlier in the year due to health issues. John Elway was also just extended to become the highest paid NFL General Manager.

Denver was never going to let John Elway get away, but there was growing concern when the contract took so long.

I personally think the whole Gary Kubiak scenario was planned from the beginning. I think they had a plan in place to keep him in Denver, but at a less stressful role so he could still be around Denver and football.
