No you GFY. I'm glad he was fighting for more yards/a td but that's still no excuse to fumble the ball. The way he was holding it, he deserved to lose it.

Question, I thought forward fumbles were illegal? That appeared to be what happened in the Navy / Air Force game. But, maybe the QB just fumbled in the endzone, not into the endzone?

The problem I have with it is it was blown dead before Florida picked it up. They then picked it up, none of our guys gave chase because it was blown dead. If its not blown dead one of our guys strips it back from Florida and takes it for a TD.

Anything could happen at the point, bad call IMO

this is a bullshite concept. the coaches teach the kids to stop at the whistle. imo, the refs should ALWAYS call it a fumble and let it play out.

This seems odd. I have been watching other CFB games. And the same thing has happened in other games. Someone fumbles the ball, and the other team picks it up. But the ruling is always well the whistle blew so even though there was a fumble the play was ruled dead at that point. Seems like they reviewed it, and overturned it. And disregarded the whistle all together.

False. Odell ran after it and see as he got up.

Although I agree, I thought it was odd that was a reviewable play. I thought if it was blown dead it wasn't reviewable.

I thought the whistle blew before Florida recovered it. I would think you can't assume a recovery.

That was a reaction. They had already blown the whistle

Michigan State got screwed out of a touchdown because of an early whistle after a Braxton Miller fumble. The refs gave Michigan State the ball but they called back the touchdown return.

The point wasn't that they blew it dead, you said no one ran after it. Odell got up and ran after it as soon as he could. They pointed it out on the broadcast
