At what point does the NFL step in and force them to upgrade their cameras from the one my dad used to record my 8th-grade basketball games in the mid-90s?

theyll probably do it since you made this post about it

If you're in Baton Rouge it's a WGMB problem. Fox affiliate in NOLA and Lafayette area have much better quality. WGMB is pathetic.

Ever thought that it could be your local affiliate?

It looked great over here
Probably your service provider broadcast signal sucks.

My $15 Mohu leaf picture was perfect. Sounds like a YOU problem

Commercials look crystal clear so it wasn't the local affiliate. It always noticeable during Fox sports broadcasts (football and baseball)
Also: The same company that owns FOX affiliate also owns the local NBC affiliate and the Sunday Night Broadcasts are always clear too. That's why I always figured it was FOX Sports.

Fox had new camera's there, but the network only broadcasted it in 720p.
Super Bowl LI to be Shot in Stunning 4K and 8K With 360 Degree Views
"Despite the absolutely total coverage in 4K and 8K of pretty much everything that happens on the field at Super Bowl LI, Fox will only be broadcasting the game in 720p HD due to what we suppose are logistical reasons that have to do with 4K broadcast difficulty."

It's WGMB...not Fox

Dude it's your local affiliate that's the problem, not FOX themselves. FS1 comes in clean quality. But not the main FOX station

It was a pretty rough picture and after the halftime show, it got worse.
NBC seems to have the best quality as far as NFL goes imo.

I mean, for the vast majority of us, a 720p broadcast is just fine and should look very clear.

It's just noticeably cloudy on the gameplay camera.

Directv here. Real good picture but I notice lip sync problems with their live sports often.
