Per Kendall Rogers twitter

Jake Gautreau is a really nice hire for @HailStateBB — He was a strong assistant at #Tulane, now doing well w/ Boras Corp. Quality get.

Reunited with his old teammate and long time friend Andy Cannizaro.

Any Nola, Northshore folks know much about Gautreau as a coach ?

No but there is a rumor that Alan Dunn might be coming to Starkville. I didn't take it seriously but it's on the MSU boards.

He did a good job recruiting at Tulane. He put together the 2 teams that Pierce won with.

You have two young dynamic recruiters working together at State. West is about to be ruled by the Dawgs.

About 15 years ago, he and Khalil Greene were back to back first round picks of the Padres. I thought they would both be superstars and hold down the left side of their infield for years. Glad to see he's doing well (even if for the bad guys).

That's just fantastic.
Mostly a testament to the clown coach Tulane hired.

There are more than a couple guys from the team this year that absolutely think he was awful, And they are not too shy about it.

Jake developed Krone's disease in his second year and never could beat the effects of it for years. Played AAA for a few years before getting out.
