I just youtubed the time Foreman fought 5 guys in one night. Ali was at ringside trying to distract him the whole time. It was like WWE. Why didn't they ever fight again? Did Ali duck Foreman?

Foreman was a wrecked soul.
I feel if he had demanded a rematch right away he would have been back on top but he just shrunk...cowered and accepted defeat.
It wasn't until years later that he said he was tricked and drugged.
I've read two books on the Rumble in the Jungle...and I still don't know what to make of it. So many theories, so many strong opinions, accusations, promoters controlling things. Boxing is like the mob with a license to sell from the government.

Foreman went apeshit after that fight. He thought he was invincible and Ali proved he wasn't. Surprisingly, Ali didn't "hurt" Foreman in that fight. He fell more out of exhaustion than anything else and claims that even though there was a "short" count, he's glad it happened because being so exhausted Ali could have seriously hurt him.
He admits Ron Lyle was the hardest puncher he ever faced and is the only fighter to seriously hurt him.
Believe it or not, a trainer dispute is why a rematch never happened. Foreman claims Ali called him just before the Lyle fight saying if he wanted a rematch, he could have one but he'd have to rehire Dick Sadler which Foreman had fired after the Ali fight. Foreman claims that Sadler was the one pushing the "attack, attack, attack" strategy and admitted after the fight that was the wrong approach with the much smarter Ali.
Foreman told Ali that Sadler would never work for him again so the fight never happened.

The media "Trumped" Foreman. His Psyche couldn't take it.
The guys that earned Ali his reputation could never last more than five or six rounds with Foreman.
Ali had it all. He was he perfect "Cash Cow" for the boxing and sports media establishment. He had looks, quick wit, and a big mouth. All the necessary characteristics for a multi million dollar pay day every time he stepped into the ring.
They couldn't afford to take a chance with a big puncher again.
