Floyd Mayweather responded to Conor McGregor's most recent demand of a $100 million purse for a boxing match with a counter offer: $15 million and a cut of the pay-per-view.

Mayweather, the retired boxing champion who turns 40 in February, was a guest Wednesday on ESPN's First Take and challenged both McGregor and the UFC to close the deal.

"You guys keep hearing all these different rumors about different fighters want to face Floyd Mayweather," he said. "Everybody keeps talking about Conor McGregor. He's blowing smoke up everybody's a--. Dana White, the UFC -- let's make it happen. Bring him over to the boxing world, and I'll show him what it's like."

"We are willing to give him $15 million and then we can talk about splitting the percentage -- the back end -- on the pay-per-view. But of course, we're the 'A side.' How can a guy talk about making 20 or 30 million if he has never made 8 or 9 million in a fight."

Zero chance Dana White lets that fight happen.

Conor and Floyd are probably texting each other behind closed doors laughing at this whole thing while planning out each and every move.

this fight is never going to happen.
floyd would never let it be anything but a pure boxing match.
conor wont do it unless he can, at minimum, use kicks.

Dana would do it, but they are gonna have to make some money off of it.

If it doesnt happen it wont be because its a pure boxing match. Mcgregor would have no issue making a boatload of money to fight in a boxing match. He has nothing to lose.

The problem is the ufc controls mcgregors contract so unless they are making a nice chunk of change there is nothing in it for them.

Why? As long as the UFC gets their share, I don't see why they would stop it.

If he gets embarrassed (which he would) in a pure boxing match he has plenty to lose. Some of that shine wears off his star. Could be rousey 2.0
His loss to Diaz wasnt an embarrassment, it was just a loss.

Conor has UFC over a fricking barrel. He is their only marketable star now - they HAVE to keep him happy. If Conor wants this fight to happen, UFC will find a way to work it out.

Dana isnt the decision maker anymore. He has a boss - and all that group cares about is making that $2B investment pay off.

Even in a pure boxing match, it would be a bad look for UFC if Floyd stroked him

Yeah, but if Conor KOs him, which is a legit possibility, Conor's value (and the UFC) goes through the roof.

You think Conor is gonna get a clean shot at the GOATs chin? ZERO % chance in a pure boxing match. Absolute zero.

So Floyd is offering himself like 100 million and Conor like 15. LOL. If Conor can touch him, he can knock him out but if they are using big gloves and boxing. Floyd is hard to catch.

It's barely a legit possibility that McGregor would knock out Diaz if they fought a 3rd fight.

It's .000000001% he knocks out Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match.
