Lehigh (Patriot) and the Citadel (SoCon) are in the playoffs as Conference winners

Teams that could earn auto bids this weekend

Liberty--Big South
JMU--CAA
St Francis--NEC
San Diego--Pioneer

There is murmurs that UNI or ILS will get a bid at 6-5.

UNI will have beaten SDSU WIU and Iowa St if win out
ILS would have beaten SDSU WIU and Northwestern if they win out.

You have a much better idea than me, but if Nicholls were to pull off the upset against UCA this week and beat Southeastern, while Sam Houston beats UCA in the final week, do the Colonels squeak in the playoffs as the second team from the SLC? I know it's a long shot but wanted your opinion if it happens.

Possible but doubtful the committee and rankings has been negative toward the SLC this year. The SLC needs UCA and Sam St to win to be a 2 bid league.

That's pretty much what I figured. Nicholls replacing UCA with ACU next year is going to hurt the SOS, but man it should help the conference record at least

This. Thought it was a bit crazy of Lance Guidry to suggest we had a shot at the playoffs if we beat Sam. Even if we won out, we are a 4 loss team in the Southland.

But, yeah, I don't see any way for the Colonels to get in even with a winning these last 2 games. 7-4 would be a HUGE boost for the program...even 6-5 would be great. Even though we have no truly "bad" losses, I don't think a win over UCA would be enough to turn heads or convince anyone they should get an at-large. I'm just hoping we can keep Rebowe in Thibodaux for a few more years. I really think they can challenge for a playoff spot next season.

ILS has been one thing this year. Inconsistent. Looked like a championship contender at times and then looked completely lost at others. Wouldn't be upset if they got a bid at 6-5, but does their body of work deserve it?

7-4 would be an incredible finish for the Colonels. I still cant believe how close both their FBS games were. Could have won both of them. I am hoping that Rebowe sticks around at Nicholls for a few more years.

Rebowe isn't going anywhere too soon I'm pretty sure the only way he would leave is if an NFL opportunity comes knocking in a few years.

In the MVC a 6-5 does beating a Western and SDSU team is good along with a B1G win. Winning 4 of last 5 is a big plus also.

Negatives, lost 4 in a row, lost to South Dakota. But the death is losing to Eastern Illinois. Can not lose to an OVC team at home.
