Families of men killed in Jose Fernandez crash suing Fernandez's estate

I say good. Jose Fernandez is 100% responsible for their deaths. If he didn't decide to get high on cocaine and drive his boat in the dark perhaps this didn't happen.
Why the Marlins continue to treat a cocaine user who is responsible for killing others like a hero is a mystery.
This would be no different than glorifying someone who killed a family in a drunk driving crash.

Are they for sure Fernandez was driving the boat?

Lawsuits like this usually go to shite in the long run for the people doing the suing because of how they handle the money that's rewarded, but it is what it is.
Agree 100% on the organization, fan base, and MLB in general glorifying him

Lots of really good people do really stupid shite.

Did they ever release the toxicology reports of the others? Or does that not matter to you because we don't know who they are and the guy with the money is automatically responsible for everything?

Despite Casey Jones and the Grateful Dead - wasn't it just drug conjecture that it caused the crash?
I would buy alcohol as a factor...it always is...Or maybe just an accident. It happens. Did he drink that night?
Cocaine effects - an increasing sense of energy and alertness.
Why Wall St. Traders and baseball players snorted it before games.

Yeah, I'm sure they hopped on the boat not knowing he was coked out of his mind

I did not click on this article but i thought someone else was driving the boat. Very little good ever happens after midnight if you are out and about partying

Wait Lebatard told me that him being loaded on coccaine had nothing to do with this and it was just a tragedy.

Sure thing, buddy.

Only faux Internet tough guys say otherwise, while probably still talking fondly about their buddies who died in a dui or something similar 20 years ago.

They are going to have to prove he was driving the boat. Wasn't he texting right around the time of the crash? Will be interesting

Do we know if the other 2 guys were drinking or on drugs?
Also, we don't know who was driving so this placing of blame is just stupid. What if Fernandez did the right thing and let his sober buddy drive back but he fricked up? Then what?

these two families members dont care about the facts or the truth. They are hoping the estate will settle quickly for a fraction.

Did everyone on the boat die? I haven't read much about what happened
Posted on 2/11/17 at 10:07 am to goldennugget
I thought they never established who was driving the boat? Obviously a crucial point in this.
