Why? Their regular punter is Craig Hentrich, who can't run a lick. Their backup, who is kicking now, is some Hodges dude. The punter in that play was a guy who had no shot at the NFL and got a chance to star in front of his hometown crowd. That's it. That play would NEVER have been run in the regular season because the other punters don't have the running ability. Despite the hot water that Fisher's in right know, he still knows how to evaluate talent and put the right players in the right position to make plays.

4 minutes into the Canton 1st preseason game, big whoopie.
Nothing great about that fake nor play, blown containment..just some matador coverage by a team that had yet to wake up and ball.
The real wow factor of that game was the Bills getting a push +3 on the game's final play, after being totally buried early.
P.S. That bush-league fake punt to start the preseason, is somewhat an afront to the "gentlemens agreement" of the NFL for preseason games, and it's karma appears most severe to the Titans, as they've been absolute garbage ever since that night.

This should have saved it for the season in a crucial game when they're fighting for playoff positioning.
