How many different variations are there?

I know there are minimum rules about the # of horizontal/vertical bars, but could you have diagonal or curved braces? Similar to the NHL goalie masks?

There is a Giants D-line player with a version I haven't seen before....completely barred up with a visor to boot. This is what got me thinking:

Not a Saints fan, I take it.

I like that guys, looks like a cartoon villian.

Penn St. has had a facemask setup I think looks really cool the last few years that I haven't seen on other teams.

The spacing on his is different....it comes lower down on his chin.

The Giants players mask is really crowded with hardly any space between the bars.

I figured more players would have their own pattern of facemask if they were really vague on the rules...have something special welded up for them by the manufacture. Almost like they do for baseball plays and their bats.
