D'Onta Jr. was born after just 23 weeks of pregnancy and weighed 15 ounces. He spent 50 days in intensive care and died on the same day that Foreman rushed for a career-best 341 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Texas Tech (Nov. 5).

quote:

"It was just something about that game, it was like, 'I'm doing it for my son. I'm leaving it all out here,'" Foreman said.

Moving stuff right there. I couldn't imagine going through that. But great news for him:

Reminds me of Joe Jurevicius. His son was born just a few days before the NFC Championship in Jan. 2003 with a rare disease and everybody knew he wouldn't live long. That NFC Championship and Super Bowl were two of the best games of his career. His son passed away just a couple months after the Super Bowl.

I couldn't imagine going through something like that.

Sad story. Glad to read that last part though. The whole story speaks to his character and mental fortitude though. Someone will get a good football player.

Hope the best for him and his girlfriend and their unborn child.

Can't even imagine. That's just awful, wouldn't wish that on anyone, rival or not.

Praying for their healing. That hurts my heart right there.

It's sad that his child died. I wouldn't want to go thru that. But why do people keep having kids out of wed lock? Man up and marry the chick

It's one thing to lose a pregnancy in utero, I've dealt with that and it was tough. I can't imagine how much worse it is if the child is still born, or dies shortyly after.

Lost mine on the same day he did. Damn. I don't wish losing a child on my worst enemies. I'm still pretty fricked up from it.

-Money (broke college student)
-It was not planned (even married folks frick this one up)
-Don't see a need for marriage (perhaps not religious)
