Bunch of bitches I say they do the same shite across the pond. Every time they lose they cry about the disgusting Americans. How many times are there riots at soccer games?

The Willett article got things started. I have zero issues with the crowds being rowdy on either side of the pond. Just don't start shite, have players going overboard like Rory was then bitch about it.

As long as you can deal with the consequences, fire away. Just dont cry afterwards.

The American reporter in the press room is the biggest bitch in all of this.

Amen - we need to quit apologizing to the world.

Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy came to the defense of the crowds and said that fans should be able to yell and support their team. They both said is was the 1% that were overboard and the American crowd pointed them out to security.

One reporter asked if we should stop serving beer at 7:00 and not start serving until 11:00. The Euros, in unison, said no!

Has two friends there yesterday . They told me it was way out of control and the drunk funks ruined it for many with personal insults hollered in the backswings and over putts. Many were thrown out, but it still sucks. The game should be respected and it was not.

I'm not advocating for people yelling during backswings and such. But to say the heckling makes you "embarrassed to be an American" is a massive overstatement.

Agreed. They didn't say they were embarrassed, but in their opinion the event was affected by the fans and that should never happen

The leading question in the press room was from an American reporter who said he was embarrassed to be an american based on the heckling.

I was there the past two days. It was much better today with the heckling in the backswing and stuff. We were near the guy that told Rory to suck a dick yesterday

UK Mirror and UK Telegraph all feature headlines of "hostile American crowd."

Does golf ever really have a hostile crowd?

I mean...lets be real here...this isn't College football.

These are golf fans who are constantly told to shuush!

I remember when the Brits complained years ago when the US thought they had won and a few ran onto the green...but Europe still had a chance and Europe threw a hissy-fit...as if a Zamboni had to come onto the green to cleanse it.

Every time the Ryder Cup comes up, we really see how the Euros think of us despite America's golf heritage.

They think we are all Cowboys and Hillbilly, playing golf like it shouldn't be played and ruining this refined sport with our uncouth ways. Doesn't matter if you are born far West and played in Arizona and Cali or born in the South or Midwest...everyone is hillbilly to them.

euros have consistently stated it's a small percentage that are causing the problem ... when you yell in someone's backswing, it's a problem ... when you're cursing someone and telling them to 'suck a dick', it'a a problem ... and the euros have not used it as an excuse for their loss ...

Agree with that too. I didn't hear any of them use it as an excuse . But as a purist who has attended 3 Ryder cups myself I hate that it came to this. The "Dirty Yanks" ride forever
