Of course we should include e-Sports to be part of the Olympics. How else would the laziest, whiniest, narcissistic and most self-indulgent generation in recent history be able to compete in a world class event like this? They deserve to be part of the Olympics and win medals, even if they have none of the athleticism, drive, ambition, raw talent or skill. Hell, I think on top of having e-Sports, we should have Selfie Pouting, YouTube ranting and Tweeting.

I would make fun of this so hard... but shite like racewalking and rhythmic gymnastics is already in, so... the Olympic sport bar has been set pretty low already.

Alright people shot on race walking but it may be harder than running tbh (and I'm saying this as a runner). Plus they go for way longer than the longest race on the track.
Esports being in would be a complete joke and would piss me off. I doubt it happens but it's retarded it's even being considered.

Nice to see the Boomers make a run at it.
BTW, where's that quote from?

From the article it didn't seem like it was getting serious consideration, more like a "we'll at least hear them out before we say no" sort of thing.

I'm officially getting old.

E sports is the future of big time money making whether you like it or not. I'd rather watch people be amazing at video games than watch equestrian dressage. The League of Legends championship completely sold out the Staples Center in a hour. If you think these nerds don't have "drive, ambition, raw talent or skill" you are completely delusional.

frick yes, that would be awesome.

That doesn't mean it should be an olympic sport. No one can really deny that it's a legit thing and has a lot of $$$ behind it.

So how does it work. Lets say basketball becomes an e sport in the olympics. Is everyone going to choose to be team USA on the video game?

They should do Dragon's Lair from the 80's. I never saw somebody complete it so I don't know how it ends.

. That'd be a huge problem with it deciding how many different games are going to be played and how many medals are they willing to give out for them.

It would bring in more viewers than 99% of the medal events. I would love to see someone like Bob Costas have to talk about esports.

And could you imagine the controversy?
I mean, there really is no control over when you fumble in madden, or when a receiver drops a pass....

People aren't going to play EASports games on a global scale

And the Russians would dope their players with No Doze and would hack their machines so their video game players never get touched.
